Okavango Delta
Lying in the middle of the largest expanse of sand on earth the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most amazing, sensitive and complex environments supporting a spectacle of wilderness and wildlife. Unique as one of the world’s few inland deltas, the placid waters and lush indigenous forests offer a safe haven for innumerable bird and wildlife species.
The Okavango Delta offers a number of activities for the visitor; game viewing, birding and fishing are all on offer. One can experience this magical world of islands and waterways from land, air and water. Highlights include the elusive Sitatunga antelope which has found refuge in this pristine wetland ecosystem, while birds such as the African fish eagle, Pel’s fishing owl and many others provide a spectacular display.

Game Drives: Game drives are conducted with a professional guide in specially-designed vehicles this allows unhindered game viewing and photography.
Boat Excursions: Explore the Okavango Deltaʼs crystal clear waterways by motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of bird, plant and reptile species found in the area.
Visit the Kanana Private Heronry, one of the largest breeding sights in Southern Africa.
Mokoro: Mokoro activities provide the chance to experience the incredible aquatic wildlife of the Okavango Delta, such as sitatunga, fish eagles, painted reed frogs and malachite kingfishers. Climb aboard a Mokoro with your ʻpolerʼ and enjoy exploring the Okavango Deltaʼs tranquil waterways.
Walking Safari: Take a guided bush walk to gain a detailed understanding of this diverse environment, which features gems such as red lechwe bounding through marshy areas, a kaleidoscope of birdlife, plus predators and big game. Walks can also be taken on small islands where the extraordinary Pelʼs Fishing Owl is known to nest.

Overnight: Kanana
A hidden jewel on the Xudum River, Kanana is located in the southwest of the Okavango Delta. The area encompasses a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn. Home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals, the nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta. Guests can also enjoy a sleep out deck and spend their evenings under a beautiful starry sky.

DAY 4 – 6: OKUTI, MOREMI GAME RESERVE
Moremi Game Reserve
The amazing foresight of Chief Moremi created one of the world’s most famous reserves, conserving part of the Okavango Delta and the plains to its east. The reserve covers more than 4871km² of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and thick forest. This diversity supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, and lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands.
The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on the Botswana national bird list. A range of luxury lodges in the reserve offer visitors the perfect base to experience this corner of paradise.

Okuti, refurbished in 2014 draws its influence from the Maunachira River which flows in front of the camp, with its abundant birdlife, fish and sandy river banks, it remains an oasis of serenity and peacefulness. Okuti is built amidst the wilderness of one of Botswana’s prime game viewing regions, Moremi Game Reserve.
Accommodation Okuti comprises five twin-bedded “Masasas”, each with en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. The honeymoon unit features a double bed, indoor and outdoor shower along with an outdoor bath tub. An additional two family “Masasas” consist of two bedrooms which share spacious bathroom facilities – ideal for families in this child-friendly camp.

DAY 7 – 9: SAVUTE SAFARI LODGE, SAVUTI – CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Savuti – Chobe National Park
Savuti, also known as Savute lies in the heart of Botswana’s beautiful Chobe National Park. This dynamic wilderness is a sweeping expanse of savannah brooded over by several rocky outcrops which guard a relic marsh and the dry channel that was once its lifeline.
The Savute goes through wet and dry cycles, where wild dogs hunt in the dry river channel where crocodiles swam only twenty years ago. Visitors to this spectacular area can spot abundant wildlife including: a variety of birds, elephants, antelope, lion prides, black-backed jackal, bat-eared foxes, tsessebe, kudu, hyena, cheetah Cape buffalo herds, and thousands of migrating zebra and wildebeest.

Activities are centered around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4×4 safari vehicles.
Many trips will incorporate a visit to the famous Savute Marsh for your chance to see the historic presence of the Savute Channel at the marsh against a teeming backdrop of wildlife. Guests will also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, a small hilly outcrop which forms a remarkable landmark in the otherwise flat landscape.
Savute lays claim to a spectacularly large summer zebra migration, which is determined by the rains but usually occurs between November and December and again between February and April when the zebras move from the rivers in the north in search of the lush grasslands and full waterholes in the southeast of the park. They are always accompanied by a myriad of predators.

Savute Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the fabled Savute Channel, which has a reputation for flowing and drying up over the years. It is currently in a wet cycle and the impact of that water on the environment, makes Savute one of the most incredible game viewing areas within Botswana. 12 en-suite safari suites with a lounge, bar, dining room and deck offering expansive Channel views complementing the public areas.
The chalets, which have been elegantly furnished in calm neutral tones to blend with the natural environment, feature expansive private decks, a combined bedroom and lounge area and en-suite facilities.
The draw to Savute are the activities and incredible wildlife experiences. Savute is home to a large population of resident elephants, which by default of the water, tend to congregate right in front of Savute Safari Lodge to get a drink.
