DAY 1: INTER CONTINENTAL NAIROBI, NAIROBI
Nairobi
Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport met and assisted by a AMA Safaris representative. After a short briefing, transfer to your Nairobi hotel Intercontinental Hotel or Crown Plaza Hotel Nairobi. Overnight at the Hotel – Bed & Breakfast.

InterContinental Nairobi is located near the parliament buildings and the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. Guests are sure to enjoy comfortable, spacious rooms that are tastefully furnished and offer stunning views of the city. DAY 2: AMBOSELI SERENA SAFARI LODGE, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Amboseli National Park
Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Masaai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Day Itinerary
Pick up at Nairobi hotel by a AMA Safaris tour/driver guide. After a short briefing, drive to the Amboseli National Park which is set at the foot of the most famous symbol of Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro. Arrive at your lodge for late lunch. Afternoon game drives at the park. Meals and overnight at the lodge.
OVERNIGHT: Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge
Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is located near Mount Kilimanjaro in the heart of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. The lodge offers 92 rooms which feature complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service and a private balcony. DAY 3: AMBOSELI SERENA SAFARI LODGE, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Day Itinerary
This is your full day to explore the Amboseli National Park. Pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast. Later just relax till afternoon game drive or visit the nearby Masai village as an optional excursion. Amboseli is Famous for its large herds of elephants and in particular their big tusk, a day in Amboseli is surely a highlight of your safari. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4: LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA RESORT, LAKE NAIVASHA
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is the highest of the Great Rift Valley Lakes and despite having no outlet; it is one of only two Rift Valley freshwater lakes. This beautiful lake is fringed by papyrus and acacia trees, a unique geologic landscape and supports a vast array of over 450 bird species. It serves as the main drinking hole for wildlife in the area such as zebra, eland, hippo, waterbuck, buffalo and much more. Visitors can look forward to excellent game viewing, intriguing night safaris, and boat excursion around the lake as well as to Crescent Island for spectacular bird watching opportunities. Other popular activities include: guided nature walks, horse riding, village visits and tours to neighbouring national parks.
Day Itinerary
Breakfast at the Lodge. 0700hrs: Depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure with optional boat ride along the lake included – subject to weather conditions Meals and overnight at your lodge.
OVERNIGHT: Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort
Naivasha is a Masai name given to the area, denoting the characteristics of the lake. 21 cottages are built in a crescent shape, and each has four rooms, totalling 80 standard rooms and two suites. Two of these rooms are suitable for the physically challenged. Six of the 21 cottages have interconnecting rooms on the ground floor.
Rock gardens feature vibrantly coloured flowers, which give a beautiful contrast to the greenery of the well-manicured lawns. Monkeys play on the lawns and different species of birds chip in the trees. Pathways wind between the open lawns and frangipanis, with aloes and proteas growing in abundance. The acacia trees are plentiful in this area and provide welcome shade. The stone exterior walls of the cottages are carried into the rooms. Ground-floor rooms have two queen-size beds and a sunken living room at the front, which opens out on to the beautifully manicured lawns.

DAY 5: GOVERNORS’ CAMP, MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Masai Mara
One of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights is the Masai Mara Game Reserve, which sprawls across more than 1500kms2 of the country’s southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including charismatic species such as elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River. The birdlife is no less impressive, with over 450 resident bird species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognized as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. To survive the dry months of July to September, some 1.7 million wildebeest migrate from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Along with much smaller numbers of antelope buffalo and zebra, they move to the more forgiving grasslands of the Masai Mara. In their wake come predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast at the Naivasha lodge, 0700hrs – Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Arrive in time for lunch at the Mara Governors’ Main Camp. After a sumptuous lunch, you will depart for an afternoon game drive to see the game of savannah. Meal and overnight at your camp on FB.
OVERNIGHT: Governors’ Camp
The award-winning Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with birdlife, hippo and crocodile, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Some of the camp’s tents enjoy uninterrupted views over the Mara River; others have views across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. Created in 1972 Governors’ Camp set new standards in luxury for a tented camp. Today it’s still Africa’s best. Everything is under canvas and all tents have ensuite bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flushing toilets. There is a bar tent with deck overlooking the Mara River and a dining tent with views over the plains.

DAY 6: GOVERNORS’ CAMP, MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

DAY 8: BREEZES BEACH CLUB AND SPA, DONGWE, ZANZIBAR
Dongwe
Located only an hour’s drive from Stone Town, near the village of Paje on the beautiful eastern coast of Zanzibar, the seaside resort town of Dongwe features endless white-sand beaches meeting crystal- clear azure waters.
