DAY 1: NAMIRI PLAINS CAMP, EASTERN SERENGETI

Eastern Serengeti

The rich acacia-dotted plains of the Eastern Serengeti are home to abundant wildlife. Visitors flock here to view the world-renowned wildebeest migration. Some of the best game-viewing can be enjoyed from Lobo on the eastern edge of the Serengeti National Park along the Grumeti River. Popular activities include: taking a guided walk through the spectacularly scenic terrain of the wild Serengeti, jumping on a hot air balloon safari, picnics in the bush, and learning about Maasai culture and history. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the world famous Gol Kopjes for the best cheetah viewing in Africa.

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival met at Kilimanjaro International Airport, connect to your morning schedule light aircraft flight to Eastern Serengeti Namiri plains.

On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by the camp driver guide and transferred to the camp on enroute game viewing. Afternoon game drives at the park. Meals and overnight at the camp.

Overnight: Namiri Plains Camp       

After 20 years of being off-limits to tourists, the Namiri Plains in the eastern Serengeti is now home to a staggering density of big cats. The camp overlooks a river, and from its ten elegant tents – each with its own veranda and private outdoor bath – guests can enjoy expansive views of the wildlife that congregates at this water source. When the Great Migration moves into the area, the plains explode into action as big cats prey on the herds.

In 2014, the region reopened with Asilia appointed as its custodian. Guests can enjoy this incredible corner of the Serengeti from the comfort of the cool and elegant Namiri Plains. DAY 5: JABALI RIDGE, RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Ruaha National Park

Following its recent expansion, Ruaha is currently East Africa’s biggest national park and the second-largest on the African continent. It is also Tanzania’s most sizeable elephant haven and home to a profusion of bird species, including kingfishers, plovers, egrets, hornbills and sunbirds. Crocodiles and hippos thrive in the Great Ruaha River, which flows along the sanctuary’s eastern border and in the dry season between July and November, animals flock to the last remaining water sources, presenting an exceptional wildlife spectacle. There are a number of accommodation options available but some close for the wet season in March and April.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your morning flight to Ruaha National park. On arrival you will be met by the camp representative and after a short briefing start on a game drive enroute to the camp arriving for lunch at Camp. Afternoon game drive in Ruaha National Park, Meals and overnight at your camp

Overnight: Jabali Ridge       

Set high on a rocky kopje overlooking a landscape dotted with bulbous baobabs, Jabali Ridge is a sophisticated base from which to explore Ruaha National Park. The remarkable beauty of Ruaha is not only in the landscape and its diversity of flora and fauna, or the impressive big game but in the feeling of having the wilderness all to you.

With only a handful of visitors at any one time in an area the size of New Jersey, this is an exceptional safari experience. There are just eight suites hidden amongst the rocky boulders that cocoon the property, designed to blend in with the environment while offering the highest class accommodation in the park.

After breakfast, a full day game drives in Ruaha National Park. Almost as large as the Serengeti, with its untouched nature remains one of the most exciting game reserves. The park  is a bird watcher’s paradise with 350 different species of birds. The Shores of Great Ruaha River is the permanent hunting ground lion, leopard, Jackal, Hyenas and African wild Dog. Enjoy the fascinating beauty of the Ruaha national park. Picnic lunch, dinner and overnight at your camp.

DAY 9: SIWANDU SAFARI CAMP, NYERERE NATIONAL PARK, SELOUS

Nyerere National Park

Forming part of the Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania’s newly established Nyerere National Park is Africa’s largest National Park. Stretching over an impressive 30,893km², the Nyerere National Park is home to some of the world’s largest concentrations of wildlife. The diversity and sheer volume of wildlife draws visitors from around the globe. Visitors can look forward to spotting a wide collection of common and rare species including the famous Big Five, some rare species of antelopes like Roan Antelope, and large concentrations of elephant and hippos. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a boating safari on the wildlife-abundant Rufiji River, spot the rare African wild dog, and enjoy a guided walking safari.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your morning flight to Selous. Arrive and transfer in a camp vehicle to your lodge arriving for lunch. At 1530hrs, enjoy an evening game drive in Selous Game Reserve.

Selous Game Reserve occupies an area larger than Switzerland and is the largest protected wildlife sanctuary in the whole of Africa Continent. This UN World Heritage site is a pristine wilderness of rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains with a network of lake and rivers.

Overnight: Siwandu Safari Camp   

Sheltered in a grove of palms on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, part of the watery byways of the Rufiji River system, Siwandu is perfectly situated within the prime game area to fully experience the abundant wildlife of Selous Game Reserve. Explore the breathtaking landscape by foot on our morning game walks, by 4WD vehicles with our expert driver guides and on the water with boat cruises on both the river and on the lake.

Broadly spaced along the lake-shore, Siwandu’s superbly appointed accommodation ensures maximum privacy and every opportunity to soak up the sights and sounds of the purest African bush.  The ten spacious octagonal tents allows guests to observe animals as they saunter past while reclining on the majestic king sized bed under the overhead fan or from the open-air stargazer showers which adjoin the en-suite bathrooms.

After breakfast and 0800hrs- depart with your lunch box, depart for a full day tour of the Selous.

DAY 11: SIWANDU SAFARI CAMP, NYERERE NATIONAL PARK, SELOUS

Day Itinerary

0700hrs- go for an early morning walking safari, returning to the Camp for lunch. 1530hrs- take an evening boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. This is a superb way of sporting game.

Dinner and overnight at your Siwandu Safari Camp.

DAY 12: END OF ITINERARY

Day Itinerary

After breakfast you will be transfer to the airstrip for your morning flight to Dar es salaam. Arrive in Dar es salaam and connect to your international flight out back home.
