Nairobi
Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the Elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA SOPA LODGE, MASAI MARA
Masai Mara
The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomises Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out leave Nairobi and drive over to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your lodge well in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in Masai Mara.
Overnight: Masai Mara Sopa Lodge
Located on the slopes of Oloolaimitia Hills, this is one of the first lodges to be built in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Guests are drawn to the ethnic design of this Lodge, which itself is surrounded by a landscape rich in flora, from wild olive, bitter aloe vera, croton and Mexican trees. The Lodge has 50 round buildings, each with two rooms. Eight of the 50 cottages have interconnecting rooms. The honeymoon suite is situated at the top of the property providing an uninterrupted view. This very spacious suite has a king-size bed, a shower and a sunken bath. A spacious verandah is perfect to watch the sunset or enjoy private meals. There are 12 suites, each with a large living area, spacious bedroom with either one king size bed or two queen-size beds, mosquito nets, en-suite bathroom with shower, coffee table with chairs and a mini-bar on request. The standard rooms equally have a choice of one king size bed or two queen size beds with mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with shower. Each has a verandah with two safari chairs.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU SOPA LODGE, LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Nakuru
Nakuru is a city on the shores of western Kenya’s Lake Nakuru, within a reserve that sprawls across almost 200kms2. It is the capital of Nakuru County, located in the Great Rift Valley. Ten kilometres from town lies the massive Menengai Crater. A hiking trail leads up to the rim of this ancient caldera, offering bird’s eye views over the lake and surrounds then plunges 400 metres down to the floor below, where you will find ancient forests. Lake Nakuru National Park, surrounding Nakuru, is home to exceptional birdlife, as well as over 50 varieties of mammals. These include lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, rhino, antelope and various primates.
Day Itinerary
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the Lodge. Depart Mara and drive over to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrival in time for lunch, afternoon game drive, later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge
Lake Nakuru Sopa lodge is located on a range of hills that form the western limits of East Africa’s Great Rift Valley; the Lodge offers spectacular views over the vastness of Lake Nakuru and its surrounding National Park. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos and other water birds being the major attraction of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white and black rhino, buffaloes and others.
The Lodge is 20km from the park main gate and 15minutes drive from Naishi airstrip.
Lodge accommodation consists of 60 rooms which include 2 inter-connecting rooms, 2 rooms accessible on wheel chair. Rooms are grouped into single, twin or triple rooms. All rooms have a clear view of the lake and you are able to view the sun rise from the balcony. All rooms have safe box, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar is stocked on request and telephone extensions are also provided in all rooms.

DAY 5: OL TUKAI LODGE, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Amboseli National Park
Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Masaai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, drive to Amboseli N. Park, via Nairobi for early lunch to arrive late in the afternoon for game drive. Enjoy evening game drive, and the beautiful views of Mt Kilimanjaro.
Overnight: Ol Tukai Lodge
Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the best spots in the world to watch elephants with the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Writers have described Ol Tukai and the surrounding Amboseli National Park as ‘a home for the gods’. A place of rugged beauty, abundant water, lush green grass and forest, set like an oasis in the surrounding savannah shrubland. To crown it all, this is where you get one of the world’s most awe-inspiring sights – dawn breaks and the sunsets over the 19,000-foot snow-capped dome of Africa’s highest mountain!

DAY 6: SEVERIN SAFARI CAMP, TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Tsavo West National Park
Located in Kenya’s Coast Province, Tsavo West National Park stretches for over 9000km² and is one of Kenya’s most rewarding parks. Tsavo West is covered in fairly thick bush but has spectacular natural scenery which includes volcanic cones, swamps, rocky outcrops and lava flows, mountains, river forest, plains, lakes, natural springs and wooded grassland. Although the game is not as easy to spot as in Tsavo East, it’s all here. Natural attractions include: the Mzima Springs, the main source of water for the Tsavo River; the Chaimu Crater; and the Roaring Rocks, offering panoramic views. Visitors can soak up the dramatic scenery, stay at one of the many fine lodges and spot a variety of wildlife.

DAY 7: SATAO TENTED CAMP, TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Tsavo East National Park
Separating northern and southern Kenya, Tsavo East National Park features bushy grasslands, open plains dotted with baobabs alternating with semi-arid acacia scrub and lush woodlands. The arid environment with its unique red earth creates spectacular photo opportunities. This park is home to some of the largest elephant and buffalo herds in Kenya. Tsavo East boasts a rich biodiversity and is said to be one of the last remaining wildernesses. Visitors can enjoy many wonderful attractions including: Galana River and Lugard’s Falls; the magnificent Yatta Plateau; and Mudanda Rock, a natural viewpoint which overlooks a much visited and photographed drinking hole. The south of the park is busier, while north of Galana is a remarkably quiet wilderness where visitors can enjoy this unspoilt beauty.

Satao Camp takes you back to the classical Out of Africa safari with green canvas tents, bush style showers and personal and friendly service; evoking a feeling of the true ‘Old African’ experience. Our location is indisputably unique; nestled beneath the shade of the old Tamarind trees, just in front of a very favored waterhole, our guests are ensured breathtaking view to the many elephants coming daily for a drink and a refreshing wash.
Satao Camp consists of 20 classical canvas tents, dining room, reception, gift shop and an observation tower overlooking our waterhole. We have 4 luxury suites for honeymooners or guests who feel for a little extra luxury, 6 family tents and 10 standard tents. 1 tent has been carefully constructed to accommodate guests with physically challenges. The tents are all en-suite with unique African furniture, comfortable beds, electricity and a spacious bathroom with hand wash basins, flush toilets and bush style showers. DAYS 8 – 11: SEVERIN SEA LODGE, MOMBASA NORTH COAST BEACH
Mombasa
Set on the spectacularly scenic coast of Kenya, Mombasa serves as both the name of the island and the city which inhabits it. Mombasa is the regional cultural, economic, and tourism centre of Kenya. The island is connected to the mainland by bridges for ease of access, and visitors can also hop on a ferry. It features East Africa’s largest cosmopolitan port, which has a rich heritage as a historical trading centre. The Old Town boasts magnificent well-preserved Arabic architecture, vibrant markets, and winding alleyways all permeated with the scent of local spices. Visitors can explore the 16th-century Fort Jesus, which stands watch over the harbour; and visit the beautiful coral reefs and white-sand beaches lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Early breakfast followed by the final game drive. Leave the park through the Bachuma gate and drive to Mombasa. Drop off at your beach hotel where you will spend the next 4 nights.
