Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife-abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport met and assisted by our Tanzania representative. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight as you prepare for the next day African safari adventure.
Overnight: Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

DAY 2: NIMALI TARANGIRE, TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park, situated within Tanzania’s spectacular Manyara Region, is an awe-inspiring national park comprising of granite ridges, river valleys, mixed vegetative landscapes, and free-roaming wildlife. During the annual dry season the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife.
Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. With lion being among the most commonly spotted animal, it is a rare day that a visitor does not spot this majestic animal prowling or grazing.
Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are seen regularly. This expansive area is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the wondrous mountains to the south.
Day Itinerary
After beakfast at the hotel. Later transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled departure flight to Tarangire – Kuro airstrip departing at 1300hrs to arrive at 1320hrs. At the airstrip, the Nimali Tarangire team will meet you and transfer you to the camp with picnic lunch box. Afternoon private game drives in Tarangire National Park.
Overnight: Nimali Tarangire
Set alongside a dry riverbed peppered with huge granite boulders and well hidden amongst the acacia and baobab trees, Nimali Tarangire sits peacefully in its own private concession, adjacent to the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park and, most importantly, away from the mainstream vehicles visiting the National Park.
No-one else is allowed to drive within our own private concession and we use open vehicles for all of our game activities. We offer guided walks and night drives as well as the option of sundowners whilst overlooking this beautiful, rather wild area.
Nimali Tarangire is a stunning eight room tented camp, designed with tranquillity in mind. Guests are welcomed into a spacious, open-fronted lounge overlooking lovely views towards the swimming pool and a waterhole beyond. Natural materials set the tone for relaxation where natural fabrics, wood, canvas and leather blend with a contemporary décor for a sense of elegance and comfort. The dining area opens up to a traditional boma with a firepit and comfortable chairs, simply waiting for the night to draw in and the stories to begin.

DAY 4: LEMALA NGORONGORO TENTED CAMP, NGORONGORO CRATER
Ngorongoro Crater
Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife; which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking with visiting a local Maasai village. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.
Day Itinerary
Breakfast at the camp and transfer to the Kuro airstrip for your scheduled departure flight to Lake Manyara airstrip departing at 1320hrs to arrive at 1340hrs. On arrival met by Tanzanian driver guide and visit to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Later proceed to the Ngorongoro, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.
Overnight: Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp
Lemala Ngorongoro is intimately set in a delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As it is located next to the quiet Lemala crater access road on the eastern side, a key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro is the quick and easy drive down on to the crater floor in the morning; Lemala guests usually have an hour’s head start over others descending via the far busier Seneto crater access road on the western rim.
Game drives from camp may start as early as 0615hrs and guests can be down among Ngorongoro’s abundant wildlife on the floor within 10-15 minutes – crucial for photographers who demand the best light conditions. Escorted walks are also available into the forest and along the crater rim with an armed ranger and Maasai guide.
Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp has 9 spacious tents that are positioned carefully to provide privacy and with minimal impact on the pristine forest environment. They accommodate two queen-size beds, and as it can get cool on the Ngorongoro Crater rim at night, little luxuries like warm winter-weight duvets, hot water bottles and gas heaters ensure a cosy night’s sleep.

DAY 6: LEMALA EWANJAN TENTED CAMP, CENTRAL SERENGETI
Central Serengeti
Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams.
The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, transfer to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your scheduled flight to Seronera airstrip departing at 0820hrs to arrive at 0855hrs.
Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.
On arrival met by Lemala Ewanjan driver guide and transfer to your camp. Lunch at your camp. Afternoon private game drives until sunset.
Overnight: Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp
Lemala Ewanjan is an authentic intimate tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti and is renknowned for its year-round game viewing due to its abundance of water in the many rivers, as well as for its large populations of resident big cats.
We have carefully positioned Lemala Ewanjan right at the end of a blind valley, so you can enjoy uninterrupted views. The camp was replaced in July 2018 with brand new tents and now features 10 standard and 2 x 2 bedroom tents ideal for families, friends and groups travelling together.
The en-suite tents are spacious and comfortable, and have an outside deck offering beautiful views over the area. Each tent is fitted with two queen-size beds with warm duvets, a flush toilet, large safari-style shower, plentiful running water, wooden storage cabinets and flooring, 24-hour solar lighting and outside loungers from which to enjoy early morning teas and coffees and refreshing afternoon gin and tonics.

DAY 9: LEMALA KURIA HILLS LODGE, NORTHERN SERENGETI
Northern Serengeti
The vast, rolling savannah of the Northern Serengeti is known as the hub of the great migration. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of savannah interspersed with acacia trees and riverine woodlands. Wildlife can be seen along the banks of the Mara River and visitors can view the annual spectacle of the half a million migrating wildebeest.
Commonly spotted wildlife include: a multitude of plains game such as buffalo, zebra, gazelles, impala, giraffe as well as lion and leopard. Visitors can look forward to bird watching, hot air ballooning, game safaris and guided bush walks.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, transfer to the Seronera airstrip for your scheduled flight to Serengeti – Kogatende airstrip departing at 0900hrs to arrive at 1005hrs.
Upon arrival you will be met by Lemala Kuria Hills staff and transfer to your camp. Arrive for check in and lunch. Afternoon private game drives until sunset.
Overnight: Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge
Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakurya Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterised by grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October.
The lodge offers unrivalled luxury and sophistication, where you can choose to either relax in style or enjoy the Northern Serengeti’s excellent game viewing (without the crowds) with superb guides in 4×4 vehicles.
Large granite boulders and kopjes are the prominent feature of Lemala Kuria Hills, and each of the 15 spacious, glass-fronted tented suites has been discreetly set amongst the giant rocks to ensure maximum privacy and spectacular views from the open decks.
