DAY 1: ELEWANA ARUSHA COFFEE LODGE, ARUSHA

Arusha

Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife-abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport [JRO] ex –International flight, you will clear with customs and immigration procedures, then be meet and greet by our Tanzania representative outside the arrivals hall for transfer to your hotel. Assisted with check in formalities and overnight at Arusha Coffee Lodge – BB.

Ngorongoro Crater

Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife; which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking and visiting a local Maasai village. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park with Picnic lunch, one of the Rift Valley numerous alkaline lakes which apart from its abundant birds life, is known for its tree – climbing lions.  Check in followed by Lunch at Ngorongoro Crater lodge, then have the rest of the Afternoon at leisure.  (OR as an Option you can Visiting a local Maasai Boma, Biking or Visit a local School). DAY 3: ANDBEYOND NGORONGORO CRATER LODGE, NGORONGORO CRATER

Day Itinerary

This morning you will descend 2,000 feet into the giant caldera of an extinct volcano. This magnificent natural amphitheatre contains the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino and elephant share this land with the legendary Masai tribesmen. Because the grasses are short, game is easily spotted and can be approached quite closely. You will spend a splendid morning on the floor of the crater observing wildlife in this ageless World Heritage Site, Stop for Picnic lunch at the crater floor.

DAY 4: ONE NATURE NYARUSWIGA, CENTRAL SERENGETI

Central Serengeti

Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

DAY 6: CHEM CHEM LODGE, CHEM CHEM CONCESSION

Chem Chem Concession

Sandwiched between the endless savannas of Tarangire National Park and the bird-rich waters of Lake Manyara National Park, Chem Chem lies in the renowned migration corridor. This concession covers over 20 000 hectares of Tanzanian wilderness characterised by vast grasslands dotted with ancient baobab trees and inhabited by diverse wildlife including herds of elephant, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impalas, and over 400 species of bird. Visitors can look forward to dining under the African night sky, day and night wildlife safaris, and visiting a traditional Maasai village. Other popular activities including: horse riding, bird watching, fishing, guided bush walks, 4×4 trails, hiking, picnicking, and game drives.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast,  drive to Tarangire National Park which hosts among other species ,Buffalo Elephant, Lion, Warthog, Eland, the Fringe-eared Oryx, Lesser and Greater Kudu, Gerenuk, and large numbers of Impala. Arrive at the lodge in time for Lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive at the Tarangire National Park.

DAY 9: JABALI RIDGE, RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Ruaha National Park

Following its recent expansion, Ruaha is currently East Africa’s biggest national park and the second-largest on the African continent. It is also Tanzania’s most sizeable elephant haven and home to a profusion of bird species, including kingfishers, plovers, egrets, hornbills and sunbirds. Crocodiles and hippos thrive in the Great Ruaha River, which flows along the sanctuary’s eastern border and in the dry season between July and November, animals flock to the last remaining water sources, presenting an exceptional wildlife spectacle. There are a number of accommodation options available but some close for the wet season in March and April.

Day Itinerary

After Breakfast, transfer to a local airstrip for scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park. On arrival at Msembe Airstrip (Ruaha) at, you will be met by the camp guide and transferred to the camp where you will spend the next 3 nights. Meals and activities as per the camp’s schedule.

DAY 10: JABALI RIDGE, RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

You will be woken up this morning to a lovely African sunrise and at the lobby coffee, tea and cookies will be ready for you.

Drive off to another adventurous safari drive in search of wild animals. The early mornings and evenings are the best times to watch the big cats hunt – the lion, the cheetah and the leopard. At these times the most glorious sunrises and sunsets are observed. Return to the lodge for a full buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure. Lunch will be served in the restaurant after which the guests will have time to rest before the afternoon safari.

Afternoon game viewing drive in search of more wildlife including the “big five” The big five are the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and the buffalo. After the game drive you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the ridge.

DAY 11: ZURI ZANZIBAR, KENDWA

Kendwa

Situated on the tropical island of Unguja, just off the Tanzanian coast, Kendwa is a village along the northwest coast of this beautiful island. It is renowned for its powder-fine white-sand beaches lapped by crystal-clear turquoise waters boasting an untouched underwater wonderland and fringed by an array of tourist resorts. Visitors can enjoy snorkelling excursions to explore the abundant marine life living in these azure waters or jumping on a local wooden dhow boat for a picturesque sunset trip. For those looking for some evening entertainment, the full moon party is a definite must. Don’t miss the opportunity to give back to the community and learn about local Zanzibar culture on a fascinating village tour, great for those looking to go beyond the usual resort activities. Stone Town

Situated on the beautiful island of Zanzibar, Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of the island and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is famous for its winding alleys fringed by grand architecture, bustling bazaars, sultan’s palace, mosques, the House of Wonders, gardens and the extravagant merchants’ houses with their remarkably ornate doors. Stone Town is home to over fifty mosques, six Hindu Temples, a Catholic and an Anglican Cathedral.
