DAY 1: OLE SERENI HOTEL, NAIROBI
Nairobi
Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the Elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport [NBO] you will be met and greet, assisted by our AMA Safaris representative and transfer to your city hotel for check in and overnight.
Overnight at Ole Sereni Hotel – BB
Located just off Mombasa road Ole-Sereni is the only hotel bordering a National Game Park. The title of the hotel is taken from the Maasai name for the area meaning ‘place of tranquillity’. DAY 2: NARO MORU RIVER LODGE, ABERDARE
Aberdare
Situated in the magnificent Aberdare Highlands, northeast of Nairobi, Aberdare is an amazing highland safari area featuring mountains, lush forests and steep ravines teeming with the best of Africa’s varied wildlife including the majestic elephant and rhino. This area is made up of the Abedare Mountain Range, which forms part of the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley as well as a vast savannah covered moorland plateau. The sheer natural beauty of Abedare has placed it on the UNESCO World Heritage list and draws visitors from all corners of the globe.

Kenya” due to the proximity to the mountain and the tailor-made mountain climbing itineraries, backed by the experienced guiding and porters team. The riverside lodge is surrounded by indigenous bush that gives it the ambience and uniqueness for which it is popular.

DAY 3: SIRIMON PARK GATE, MOUNT KENYA NATIONAL PARK
Mount Kenya
Rising up from the heart of the Kenyan landscape, the snow-capped Mount Kenya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is Africa’s second highest mountain reaching an impressive 5199 metres in height, which is an awe-inspiring sight. Visitors can explore its surrounding forests, trout-filled streams and game reserve; or for the more adventurous, summit the peak. While Mount Kilimanjaro is an easier climb, Mount Kenya is more of a challenge as it has a higher technical difficulty, however, Point Lenana can be easily reached by a fit hiker. Visitors can look forward to a variety of wonderful activities such as: cave exploration, mountain climbing, camping, and game viewing. Commonly spotted wildlife include: elephant, mongoose, duiker, bushbuck, eland and over 130 bird species.

Morning spent sorting and organizing equipment for the mountain trek and be driven to the Sirimon gate. An easy 3hrs walk through equatorial forest to Judmaier’s Camp (3,300m) for overnight in the high altitude mountain tents.

The Like North Hut is one of the camping facilities found at the Mount Kenya National Park. Activity options for visitors to the Mount Kenya National Park involve game viewing, camping, mountain climbing and cave exploration.

DAY 8: SAROVA LION HILL GAME LODGE, NAKURU
Nakuru
Nakuru is a city on the shores of western Kenya’s Lake Nakuru, within a reserve that sprawls across almost 200 square kilometres. It is the capital of Nakuru County, located in the Great Rift Valley. Ten kilometres from town lies the massive Menengai Crater. A hiking trail leads up to the rim of this ancient caldera, offering bird’s eye views over the lake and surrounds then plunges 400 metres down to the floor below, where you will find ancient forests. Lake Nakuru National Park, surrounding Nakuru, is home to exceptional birdlife, as well as over 50 varieties of mammals. These include lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, rhino, antelope and various primates.

After breakfast and check out, you will be met by your driver guide and drive to Lake Nakuru arriving at at your camp for check in and lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park till sunset.

Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. A short two-hour drive from Nairobi, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is a favourite with residents and visitors to Kenya.
Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out in such a way that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the lake and the park. Lake Nakuru National Park was created in 1968 to protect the huge flocks of over of the lesser flamingo that breed and nest at the edge of Lake Nakuru, giving it the characteristic pink rim. Lake Nakuru National Park, located at an altitude of 4,000-5,767 feet above sea level, covers 188 square kilometres of land of great ecological diversity – from lake water, woodland, bush grassland, to rocky ridges. The park is home to not just the lesser flamingo but over 400 species of birds and one of the few places to see the endangered white rhino. Other wildlife at the park includes lions, leopards, zebra, gazelles, eland, giraffe and the hyrax.

DAY 9: ILKELIANI CAMP, MASAI MARA
Masai Mara
The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomizes Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

After breakfast and check out, have an early game drive before departing to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon enjoy a game drive.

Nestled in a river glade in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. The camp has been designed to combine the old traditional safari style with a modern and fresh feel. Ilkeliani Camp offers only 17 tents and each commanding views of the plains and the wildlife action throughout the day. It is a permanent camp designed along eco-friendly principles. The ethos is to leave a minimum foot print on nature.
Each well-equipped tents are stylish with en suite bathroom. They are sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel that you are out in the wilderness. The interiors are spacious and comfortable featuring a front verandah with a day bed and canvas safari chairs.
