DAY 1: THE BOMA HOTEL ENTEBBE, ENTEBBE     

Entebbe

Situated on a peninsula in Lake Victoria, the former seat of Uganda’s government, Entebbe is just a short drive from the current capital and offers plenty to keep visitors amused. This charming town features tree-lined streets and serves as an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area.

Tourists can look forward to spending days on beautiful beaches along the banks of Lake Victoria, stroll through the fields and forests of the magnificent Botanical Gardens, or pay a visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a haven for country’s orphaned chimps.

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival, you will welcomed by our Ugandan safari guide who will transfer you to the lodge for an overnight stay. Boma Guest House – BB

Note: If you arrive on earlier flight you could take on afternoon walk around the botanical gardens with a range of plant-life, water loving birds and primates all at your disposal (Optional and paid directly)

Overnight: The Boma Hotel Entebbe  

Located on the outskirts of Entebbe, Uganda, the Boma Hotel sits in a leafy suburb and is surrounded by a lush, tropical garden. There are many nearby attractions to the hotel, including the Entebbe Botanical Garden and the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.

The Boma Hotel has 15 luxurious ensuite rooms, individually decorated with a tasteful blend of African fabric and colonial furnishings. The rooms include a wide range of useful amenities, such as Wi-Fi and mosquito nets. There is a bar set in a landscaped garden with lake views which combine to provide a charming and relaxed “country house” experience. The main house includes a private dining veranda and living room for overnight guests. Other hotel facilities include a swimming pool. The hotel has 24-hour security and car parking.

DAY 2:  MOUNT GAHINGA LODGE, MGAHINGA GORILLA NATIONAL PARK

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Located in southwestern Uganda, in the Kisoro District, the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park forms part of the much larger Virunga Conservation Area. This wilderness sanctuary was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests. The striking landscape boasts three conical volcanoes which are a part of the magnificent Virunga Range which fringes Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. Aside from the main attraction which is the mountain gorillas, the park is home to buffaloes, elephants, endangered golden monkeys and many of bird species. The three extinct volcanoes offer plenty of hiking trails.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast at the lodge you will be transferred  to the airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kisoro Airstrip. On arrival you will be welcomed by Ugandan guide  and transfer you to the lodge for an overnight stay. Gahinga Mountain Lodge. Here you could seek advice from the lodge if they can arrange a nature/Village walk around the area and you will be able to taken around.

Overnight: Mount Gahinga Lodge   

Nestled at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, Mount Gahinga Lodge is a stunning luxury adventure lodge hidden in the southern corner of Uganda. Its rustic charm is inspired by traditional design and building techniques. Gahinga Lodge is the perfect base to go gorilla tracking, track the rare golden monkey, climb a volcano, walk through local villages and most of all to share the culture of the Batwa pygmies, the oldest inhabitants of the Central African Rain Forest.

The lodge with its beautiful living room, sun room and terrace has fantastic views of the volcanoes and the Kisoro valley below. The luxury bandas reflect the magic of the aesthetic traditions of the Bufimbira people, with their distinct colours. Each Banda has an ensuite luxury shower room, fireplace and private porch.

DAY 3:  FIVE VOLCANOES BOUTIQUE HOTEL, VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Volcanoes National Park

Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo in Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Visitors flock here to experience a face to face encounter with these intriguing creatures. The park is set high on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat. While the Gorilla’s are without a doubt the main draw card, visitors can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the Crater Lake on Mount Bisoke.

Day Itinerary

This day you will go Gorilla trekking in the jungles of Mgahinga and you will be guided into the trials and upon encounter, you will have an hour with the gorillas after which, you will return to the lodge. You will refresh and begin your transfer to Rwanda with brief stop at the one boarder post for Immigration formalities. Crossover to Rwanda drive and arrive at the lodge in the evening where you will check in for dinner and overnight stay. Five Volcanoes on Full Board.

Activities

Uganda Wildlife Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is situated in south-western, Uganda. The National Park is one of few parks where endangered mountain gorillas roam freely in the beautiful rainforest.

There is a variety of lodges suitable for overnight stays. The gorilla tracking starts at 0800hrs and the duration are 2 – 4 hrs. The best time to go to the park is mid-December till February and June to October, although gorilla tracking takes place throughout the year.

Overnight: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel  

Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel in Musanze (Ruhengeri) located on the road going to Kinigi is the perfect starting point to go for different activities that the Volcanoes National Park is offering but also gives you lot of opportunities to rest and to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the lodge. DAY 4: KIGALI SERENA HOTEL, KIGALI

Kigali

Rwanda’s capital and biggest city stretches across undulating lush hills surrounded by towering mountains, the largest of which is Mount Kigali, rising 1850 metres above sea level. Kigali is the country’s financial, commercial and cultural hub, served by an international airport and featuring a wide range of accommodation options, restaurants and points of interest, including the Kigali Genocide Centre, an atmospheric market and numerous craft shops. With its interesting architecture, busy streets, meandering boulevards, and green hillsides, Kigali is said to be one of the most attractive cities in Africa and is definitely worth a visit.

Day Itinerary

This day, you could have to choose from the Dian Fossey hike, Karisimbi or Visoke hike as you deem the physical fitness, while in the hike you could encounter birds, plant life and some primates crossing your trials.

Later you will descent the Volcanoes Mountains and get ready to be transferred to Kigali where you will have an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel.

Optional, You could go trekking the Gorillas or Golden Monkeys in the same conservation areas.

DAY 5: END OF ITINERARY       

Day Itinerary

This day tou will have breakfast at the lodge and later take on city tour of Kigali, where you will visit local markets of Butare, the Genocide memorial museum and city centres. Later you will transfer to the airport for your international flight.

Get to know this beautiful and amazing city. The Go Kigali City Tour is the best way to see and experience Kigali! Stops include: a trip to the top of Mt. Kigali for views of the city and the countryside, a milk bar, a neighborhood market, a mural walk, a great Rwandan lunch, the best coffee around, a ride on a water taxi, a neighborhood walk and ends at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
