DAY 1: IBIS STYLES NAIROBI WESTLANDS, NAIROBI

Nairobi

Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum,Giraffe Centre and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the World’s only urban National Park. Make sure you pay a visit to the Elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will clear with customs and immigration procedures. You will then be met by a AMA Safaris Representative outside the arrivals hall for transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Ibis Styles Nairobi Westlands – BB

Wildlife and nature lovers can do a day visit to the National Park, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe centre and Karen Blixen Museum where Out of Africa was filmed. Westlands is well known for its great night life, Electric Avenue is 5mins away and full of international bars and casinos.

DAY 2: LAKE ELEMENTAITA LODGE, LAKE ELMENTEITA

Lake Elmenteita

Elmenteita, meaning ‘place of dust’, is a small soda lake which attracts many visiting flamingos. It has been named as a World Heritage Site for its prolific birdlife. This is where Kenya’s most famous settler Lord Delamere lived and he was responsible for much of Kenya’s early agricultural experimentation in the fertile area, the area is still inhabited by some of his descendants. The shores are often alive with wildlife and the surrounding forests are perfect for long walks and birding. Visitors can look forward to visiting the Kekopey hot springs, spotting over 400 bird species and game viewing along the lake’s edge, which is abundant with eland, kudu, zebra, gazelle, and warthog families.

Day Itinerary

0800hrs: Pick up after breakfast and drive to Lake Elementaita located in the Great Rift Valley. Kenya’s Rift Valley is popular for the many lakes found within this vast region, these lakes attract a variety of terrestrial bird life numbering over 450 species. Species that can be found in the park includes white rhino, lions, leopards and water bucks. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Lake Elementaita Lodge

0800hrs: After breakfast, depart with packed lunches for Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park was once described as the most fabulous bird spectacle in the world and it spans an attractive range of wooded and bush grassland around the lake, offering wide ecological diversity – from the lake waters, woodland to the rocky escarpment and ridges. During the game drive, you may have the opportunity to see various wildlife both predatory and plains game, not forgetting the abundance of bird life. This park also serves as home to both the white and black rhino. After the game drive proceed back to your lodge. Meals and overnight at Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge – LDBB

DAY 4: LA MAISON ROYALE MARA CAMP, MASAI MARA

Masai Mara

The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomizes Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

Day Itinerary

0730hrs: After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drives until sunset. You might wonder what Mara means in the beautiful language of Maa (Masai Language)! Mara means “spotted” and in essence you can spot our 22-tented luxury camp, La Maison Royale Mara Camp (LMR Mara Camp) from a great distance in the adventurous kingdom. LMR Mara Camp is located in a private Olare Motorogi Conservatory in the Maasai Mara ecosystem in Kenya.

The camp is excellently located in a conservancy that covers 13,500 hectares of pure adventure in the heart of the jungle. It provides you with earth’s greatest live wildlife show of beautiful creatures in their personal habitats. Be prepared to meet lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and African buffalo wait a minute, did we just list the big five! The action adventure does not end with them.
