DAY 1: ELEWANA ARUSHA COFFEE LODGE, ARUSHA   

Arusha

Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife-abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

Day Itinerary

Arrival at Kilimanjaro international Airport, you will be met on arrival by AMA Safaris -Tanzania representative and driver guide to transfer you to your overnight hotel.

Overnight: Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

Located in the middle of a verdant coffee plantation, Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge is a sanctuary of aromatic tranquillity and a welcome retreat after a long international flight, or the dust and excitement of a thrilling bush safari. Take residence in one of 30 luxury wooden chalets – 12 Plantation Suites and 18 Plantation Rooms – nestled amongst the surrounding gardens and sea of coffee trees.

Turning off the road, a tree-lined drive guides you to the warm and inviting main area with its quiet understated aura of luxury. Vibrant gardens, a spa, and a swimming pool await, and a restaurant, Bacchus, and café bistro, 3° south, boast menus to satisfy the most discerning of palates, successfully fusing international culinary prowess with locally-sourced ingredients.

DAY 2: LEMALA KURIA HILLS LODGE, NORTHERN SERENGETI        

Northern Serengeti

The vast, rolling savannah of the Northern Serengeti, is known as the hub of the great migration. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of savannah interspersed with acacia trees and riverine woodlands. Wildlife can be seen along the banks of the Mara River and visitors can view the annual spectacle of the half a million migrating wildebeest. Commonly spotted wildlife include: a multitude of plains game such as buffalo, zebra, gazelles, impala, giraffe as well as lion and leopard. Visitors can look forward to bird watching, hot air ballooning, game safaris and guided bush walks.

After breakfast you will check out and transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Northern Serengeti, on arrival you will be met by the camp vehicle and the driver guide, for your transfer to the camp. Lunch with an afternoon game in a shared camp vehicle. All meals at camp.

Overnight: Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakurya Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterised by grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October.

The lodge offers unrivalled luxury and sophistication, where you can choose to either relax in style or enjoy the Northern Serengeti’s excellent game viewing (without the crowds) with superb guides in 4×4 vehicles.

Large granite boulders and kopjes are the prominent feature of Lemala Kuria Hills, and each of the 15 spacious, glass-fronted tented suites has been discreetly set amongst the giant rocks to ensure maximum privacy and spectacular views from the open decks. DAY 5: FOUR SEASONS SAFARI LODGE, EASTERN SERENGETI

Eastern Serengeti

The rich acacia-dotted plains of the Eastern Serengeti are home to abundant wildlife. Visitors flock here to view the world-renowned wildebeest migration. Some of the best game-viewing can be enjoyed from Lobo on the eastern edge of the Serengeti National Park along the Grumeti River. Popular activities include: taking a guided walk through the spectacularly scenic terrain of the wild Serengeti, jumping on a hot air balloon safari, picnics in the bush, and learning about Maasai culture and history. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the world famous Gol Kopjes for the best cheetah viewing in Africa.

Check out and depart to the airstrip for your flight to Central Serengeti National park. On arrival met by the lodge representative and vehicle and transferred to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drives on shared basis. Dinner and overnight at Four Seasons Safari Lodge.

Please note; 

  • Non A/C Vehicles are used for transfers in cities and on Safari in Tanzania
  • Luggage limit of one soft bag per person during travel in Tanzania. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles.
  • Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 15kgs per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided luggage or duffel are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).
  • The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms. Please be advised that the maximum singles the lodges can give is 4. The rest are charged as doubles.
  • Intermediate stops during flying on domestic flights: Internal flights are designed to serve a complex network throughout Tanzania and Kenya. Please keep in mind that unless otherwise stated flights are not guaranteed to be direct to the destination as there may be intermediate stops to collect or drop off other passengers.
  • Stops on request: Means our ability to stop in an airfield of the customer’s choice. However for operational reasons only a limited number of stops are possible. We request you to enquire in advance.
  • Rainy season: Flights are suspended during the long rains (mid March – end May) for exact dates please contact us.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Contract variations

The contractual costs mentioned above in this agreement are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them. In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, AMA SAFARIS has the right to pass on any increases to our Partners or Clients.

Payment Policy

A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking.  The balance of 65% is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program.  If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.

Children Policy:

Children between the age of 3 and 12 years

  • Pays 60% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults
  • Pays 80% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another children
  • Pays 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one adult
  • No discount on Holiday and other supplements

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation and no-show fees. Following is the scale for cancellation charges:

  • 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35 days prior to arrival
  • 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
  • 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24 hrs prior to arrival

Itinerary Changes:

Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in East Africa may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions. Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc. AMA SAFARIS LTD will communicate with you for such tour itinerary/tour program or accommodation changes
