DAY 1: TAMARIND TREE HOTEL, NAIROBI

Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum,Giraffe Center and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the Elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

DAY 2: SARUNI SAMBURU, KALAMA CONSERVANCY
Kalama Conservancy
Kalama Community Wildlife Conservancy, an exclusive and collectively-owned 95,000hectare-large wildlife Conservancy, borders the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya. It also borders Ngutuk Ongiron Group Ranch to the west, Namunyak Community Conservation Trust to the north and Sera Community Wildlife Conservation to the northeast. Kalama is part of Northern Rangelands Trust.
The Samburu ecosystem is a well-known area in central Kenya comprising of Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Samburu National Reserve and Kalama Conservancy. The natural environment is arid and semi-arid; open scrub and grasslands with significant environmental variation based on altitude. The area is home to the ‘Samburu Special Five’ – indigenous species only found in this area namely the Beisa oryx, the gerenuk, the Somali ostrich, the Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe.
Guests visiting this pristine conservancy can encounter the abundant wildlife away from the crowds and uninterrupted by other vehicles as only the lodges and camps situated in the conservancy have the right to game drive in this area.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you will be picked up at 0830hrs and transferred to Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu, the flight departs at 1020hrs, arrives at 1130hrs approximately.
Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Samburu Game Reserve covers 40miles² (104kms²) Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to the game viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks), blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope are also species found in Samburu that are unique to the Northern parks.

DAY 4: ENTIM MARA, MASAI MARA
Masai Mara
One of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights is the Masai Mara National Reserve, which sprawls across more than 1500kms² of the countries southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including charismatic species such as elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River.
The birdlife is no less impressive, with over 450 resident bird species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognized as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. To survive the dry months of July to September, some 1.7 million wildebeest migrate from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
Along with much smaller numbers of antelope buffalo and zebra, they move to the more forgiving grasslands of the Masai Mara. In their wake come predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara reserve, the flight departs at 0930hrs arrives at 1100hrs approximately.
Masai Mara offer offers wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago.
Upon arrival at the airstrip you will be met by the camp driver guide and transferred to the camp with a game drive en route for check-in & Lunch. Later in the afternoon proceed for a shared afternoon game drive until sunset before returning for dinner and overnight at Entim Mara – LDBB
Overnight: Entim Mara
Entim meaning “forest” in Maasai is discreetly tucked on the edge of the riverine woodlands. From the shaded seclusion of this attractively-designed camp, guests can relax in luxury and admire unforgettable views over the Mara River and across expansive plains, with the distant backdrops of undulating escarpments and volcanically-sculpted hills. From the veranda of each tent, it is even possible to witness the breathtaking sight of thousands of Wildebeest crossing the river during their annual migration through this vast wilderness area. We have kept the camp eco-friendly and small, with only ten, tastefully but differently furnished, well-equipped tents. Our decor aims to enhance the surrounding environment.

All 12 guest tents overlook the Mara River and are well-placed, en-suite with flush toilets and hot showers. There is a cozy lounge area with a small library, separate bar, and dining area, which is open-fronted allowing guests the unmatched experience of eating meals while watching the animals move to and from the river to drink and forage for their food. The camp has been designed to give guests the feel that it is part of the landscape.
