DAY 1: HILTON NAIROBI, NAIROBI     

Nairobi

Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum,Giraffe Center and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the Elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Day Itinerary

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport ex international flight, clear with customs and immigration, thereafter you will be greeted by your friendly AMA Safaris tour manager / local representative outside the baggage hall. Later, proceed to your hotel for check in.  Overnight at the Hilton Hotel – Bed & breakfast 

OVERNIGHT: Hilton Nairobi           

Located in the heart of the shopping and business district of Nairobi, Hilton Nairobi offers easy access to many local attractions including the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, curio shops and Masai craft market on weekends. The comfortable rooms all have soundproofed windows and internet access. Upgraded rooms offer more space, city views, and private terraces on the pool level as well as access to the exclusive Executive Lounge, complimentary breakfast and refreshments throughout the day. Other facilities at this hotel include five dining and beverage venues, a heated outdoor pool, and a fully-equipped fitness center.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE, KIMANA, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK        

Kimana

Located in the Loitokitok District of Kenya’s Rift Valley Province, close to the Kenyan border, Kimana is a beautiful, remote town boasting spectacular natural landscapes, an array of churches, and several enthralling wildlife parks. Nature and animal enthusiasts will delight in going on safaris at reserves such as the Kimana Sanctuary, where they can see mesmerising open plains, yellow fever trees, Mount Kilimanjaro in the south and the Chyulu Hills in the north. Visitors will have the chance to spot elephants, zebra, gazelle, eland, warthogs, vervet monkeys and kingfishers.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast at leisure proceed by road to Amboseli National Park, Park that is famous for its breath-taking views of Kilimanjaro. The Park also shelters more than 420 species of birds. Enormous Elephant population and other big game are attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight: Amboseli Sopa Lodge  

Nestled in 190 acres of wooded Masai land, the Lodge sits on the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.  Mature wooded gardens with a variety of trees and plants thrive in these surroundings.  Different species of birds, monkeys and squirrels dart through the gardens. There are 83 rooms in total, some with interconnecting doors – ideal for families – and 24 rooms can be turned into triples on request.  Two rooms are suitable for the physically challenged, and one room is a honeymoon suite.  The rooms are constructed as individual huts, and they are all spacious, with en-suite bathrooms and verandahs.  Local materials and colours are used for furnishings, maintaining the African theme.  The totally private and spacious honeymoon suite has an ornamental fireplace and kitchenette.  A spacious verandah surrounds the suite, ideal for viewing the mountain in its glory.

DAY 3: AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE, KIMANA ,AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Day Itinerary

Pre – breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. During the first hours of the morning, the savannah is filled with a special animation. This is when the larger predators hunt for their food, before the temperature becomes too hot for any excessive physical activity. This is the time we have the highest chances of watching a hunt in action, after a rewarding morning game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast.

Later just relax till afternoon game drive (also likely in the early evening). The colours of the landscape are also more accentuated, and help us to take great photographs. OR US$35 per person, visit the nearby Masai village as an optional excursion.

Optionally: Depart with Picnic lunch boxes so us we enjoy a Full day game drives in the Amboseli. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU LODGE, LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Nakuru

Nakuru is a city on the shores of western Kenya’s Lake Nakuru, within a reserve that sprawls across almost 200 square kilometres. It is the capital of Nakuru County, located in the Great Rift Valley. Ten kilometres from town lies the massive Menengai Crater. A hiking trail leads up to the rim of this ancient caldera, offering bird’s eye views over the lake and surrounds then plunges 400 metres down to the floor below, where you will find ancient forests. Lake Nakuru National Park, surrounding Nakuru, is home to exceptional birdlife, as well as over 50 varieties of mammals. These include lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, rhino, antelope and various primates.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast at 0730hrs drive to Lake Nakuru National park in time for lunch. The park was famous for its millions of pink flamingos that used to line the lake shores. The population has greatly dwindled due to the changing alkalinity levels in the lake.  The Park is also Sanctuary to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. Bird life include common species like the lesser and Greater Flamingos, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants. Afternoon game drive. OVERNIGHT: Lake Nakuru Lodge  

Situated inside Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Nakuru Lodge is an eco-lodge that provides peerless views of wildlife and Lake Nakuru. Each guest rooms features a Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a seating area. The lodge also includes an in-house restaurant and an outdoor pool. Guests can visit must-see sights such as Egerton Castle and Menengai Crater less than 50km away from the property.

DAY 5: JAMBO MARA SAFARI LODGE, MASAI MARA   

Masai Mara

The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomises Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara.

It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

Day Itinerary

After breakfast at 0700hrs proceed to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve via the Great Rift Valley. En route enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and check in. Rest of the afternoon at leisure with game drive. Dinner and overnight at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge – FB.

Overnight  Jambo Mara Safari Lodge        

Jambo Mara Safari Lodge is located in Maasai Mara National Reserve in Narok, Kenya. The lodge offers a variety of cottages built from Canadian pine wood and equipped with all the essential amenities to ensure a comfortable and luxurious stay. Each cottage also has a veranda with two chairs, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a king size bed with high-quality memory-cotton mattress. Guests can enjoy safari trips, hot air balloon trips, dancing with the Maasai people and being surrounded by the breathtaking Kenyan nature and animals.

DAY 6: JAMBO MARA SAFARI LODGE, MASAI MARA   

Day Itinerary

After breakfast pick up your picnic breakfast and proceed on a full-day game-viewing drives in search of the myriad species of game that make this reserve their home. If you are lucky, you can witness the kill in action, moment by moment, right in front of your unbelieving eyes!

After packed lunch at one of the designated areas proceed for another exciting game drive, where you can expect to see the famous ‘Big 5’.  Later drive back to your lodge for

Please note; 

  • Non A/C Vehicles are used for transfers in cities and on Safari in Kenya
  • Luggage limit of one soft bag per person during travel in Kenya. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles.
  • Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 15kgs per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided luggage or duffel are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).
  • The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms. Please be advised that the maximum singles the lodges can give is 4. The rest are charged as doubles.
  • ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION: In the case of a confirmed booking being re-routed for whatever reason we will endeavor to move guests to an equivalent level property subject to availability and with prior agreement with the operator/agent and we reserve the right to do so in the best interests of all concerned

Contract variations

The contractual costs mentioned above in this agreement are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them. In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, AMA SAFARIS LTD has the right to pass on any increases to our Partners or Clients.

Payment Policy

A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking.  The balance of 65% is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program.  If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.

Children Policy:

Children between the age of 3 and 12 years

  • Pays 60% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults
  • Pays 80% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another children
  • Pays 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one adult
  • No discount on Holiday and other supplements

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation and no-show fees. Following is the scale for cancellation charges:

  • 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35 days prior to arrival
  • 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
  • 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24 hours prior to arrival

Itinerary Changes:

Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in East Africa may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.

Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc. AMA SAFARIS LTD will communicate with you for such tour itinerary/tour program or accommodation changes
