Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife – abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) ex your International flight TBA where you will be welcomed by our representative and chauffeured to your hotel. The drive usually takes about 45minutes transfer.

DAY 2: OLE SERAI LUXURY CAMP KOGATENDE, NORTHERN SERENGETI
Northern Serengeti
The vast, rolling savannah of the Northern Serengeti, is known as the hub of the great migration. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of savannah interspersed with acacia trees and riverine woodlands. Wildlife can be seen along the banks of the Mara River and visitors can view the annual spectacle of the half a million migrating wildebeest. Commonly spotted wildlife include: a multitude of plains game such as buffalo, zebra, gazelles, impala, giraffe as well as lion and leopard. Visitors can look forward to bird watching, hot air ballooning, game safaris and guided bush walks.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast at 0630hrs transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled morning flight departing Arusha at 0830hrs arriving Kogatende at 1030hrs.
On arrival at the airstrip the camp’s vehicle will pick you and transfer you to the camp for check in and lunch. The Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.

OVERNIGHT: Ole Serai Luxury Camp Kogatende
This Luxury Camp is strategically located within the northern (Kogatende) area of the famous Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and is set amidst the most prime areas of the Serengeti following the path of the great migration, sparsely inhabited by large Acacia as well as Tortilis Tree’s and is home to several species of wildlife that reside in this area year round due to catchments of water bodies around the area.
Due to the Campsite’s ideal location, the great spectacle of the world-famous annual migration can be witnessed almost as close as to the camp’s doorsteps – since the site lies along one of the main migratory corridors/routes, which the wildebeest use during their Great Migration going to and fro the North and South of the Serengeti.

DAY 3: OLE SERAI LUXURY CAMP KOGATENDE, NORTHERN SERENGETI

Full day is spent in the Serengeti North.
The early morning calm air of the Northern Serengeti has made possible the introduction of Hot Air Balloon flights, available as an optional tour ride to see the park from a bird’s eye view, from leading lodges and camps in the reserve. (Please reserve early to avoid disappointment for this adventure!).
Pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast. Lunch and late afternoon Game viewing drive.
OPTION: A full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes (full day game drive including visits to Mara River, Kenya Tanzania Border Post and a great chance to view the “Big Five”. You will have picnic lunch under acacia tree on the savannah. Return to your lodge late in the afternoon). DAY 5: ANDBEYOND NGORONGORO CRATER LDG, NGORONGORO CRATER
Ngorongoro Crater
Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife; which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking, also, visiting a local Maasai village. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.

After breakfast at 0800hrs transfer to Kogatende airstrip for your scheduled morning flight departing at 1015hrs to Manyara airstrip (1145hrs).
On arrival drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation area, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.

OVERNIGHT: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, the magnificent Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the only property on the eastern rim of this World Heritage Site. Accommodating 186 guests in its 97 spacious en-suite bedrooms, the Lodge has its own private road to the crater floor. The Lodge is perfectly situated to explore the abundant game in what is often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. Please note;
- Non A/C Vehicles are used for transfers in cities and on Safari in Tanzania
- Luggage limit of one soft bag per person during travel in Tanzania. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles.
- Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 15kgs per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).
- The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms. Please be advised that the maximum singles the lodges can give is 4. The rest are charged as doubles.
- Intermediate stops during flying on domestic flights: Internal flights are designed to serve a complex network throughout Tanzania and Kenya. Please keep in mind that unless otherwise stated flights are not guaranteed to be direct to the destination as there may be intermediate stops to collect or drop off other passengers.
- Stops on request: Means our ability to stop in an airfield of the customer’s choice. However for operational reasons only a limited number of stops are possible. We request you to enquire in advance.
- Rainy season: Flights are suspended during the long rains (mid March – end May) for exact dates please contact us.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Contract variations
The contractual costs mentioned above in this agreement are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them. In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, SIENTE AFRICA has the right to pass on any increases to our Partners or Clients.
Payment Policy
A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program. If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.
Children Policy:
Children between the age of 3 and 12 years
- Pays 60% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults
- Pays 80% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another children
- Pays 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one adult
- No discount on Holiday and other supplements.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be received in writing. As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.
Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation and no-show fees. Following is the scale for cancellation charges:
- 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35days prior to arrival
- 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
- 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24hours prior to arrival
Itinerary Changes:
Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in East Africa may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.
Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc. SIENTE AFRICA will communicate with you for such tour itinerary/tour program or accommodation changes
