DAY 1: EKA HOTEL, NAIROBI

Situated in along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place, and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief, there are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum,Giraffe Centre and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

DAY 2: MT KENYA LODGE, MOUNT KENYA
Mount Kenya
Rising up from the heart of the Kenyan landscape, the snow-capped Mount Kenya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is Africa’s second highest mountain reaching an impressive 5199 metres in height, which is an awe-inspiring sight. Visitors can explore its surrounding forests, trout-filled streams and game reserve; or for the more adventurous, summit the peak. While Mount Kilimanjaro is an easier climb, Mount Kenya is more of a challenge as it has a higher technical difficulty, however, Point Lenana can be easily reached by a fit hiker. Visitors can look forward to a variety of wonderful activities such as: cave exploration, mountain climbing, camping, and game viewing. Commonly spotted wildlife include: elephant, mongoose, duiker, bushbuck, eland and over 130 bird species.

Day Itinerary
Depart Nairobi at 0800hrs and drive to Mount Kenya region- 3hrs drive to Naromoru where you meet the guide for briefing and sorting of the equipment. Then proceed to Naromoru park-gate on Naromoru route where you start the trek. The guide set a leisurely pace for a relaxing trek up on the mountain. The trek helps you to acclimatize and enjoy seeing fascinating vegetation zones of an equatorial mountain and the associated rich animal and bird life. Packed Lunch is provided en-route. The trek takes 3hrs to the Met station where we spend the night in the Mountain log cabins.
A good day for acclimatization for we will be sleeping at an altitude of 3,050m. A short hike is taken in the afternoon to gain and loose altitude.

DAY 3: MT KENYA LODGE, MOUNT KENYA

Met. Station – Teleki Lodge.
After breakfast hike up past forest line to moorland zone covered by tussock glass and Heathers zone onto the Teleki valley to the crest of the ridge from which vantage point you have a splendid view of the main peaks. Packed lunch is provided en-route. Proceed on for 2hours to get to Teleki lodge for Dinner and overnight in hut.

DAY 4: MT KENYA LODGE, MOUNT KENYA
Day Itinerary
Teleki Lodge – Pt.Lenena, 4985m – Met. Station
A per-dawn start at 0400hrs is made to ensure a successful summit bid and in time for clear view of the majestic scenery after sunrise. With the help of the guide ascent to the third highest peak ( point lenana -4985 m, 4-5hr), at the peak on a clear day you can be able to see Uhuru peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro- a few minutes for celebration and photos then descend down through the Austrian to Teleki lodge for breakfast and rest.
Afternoon proceed to hike down for 5hrs through the moorland to Met. Station to arrive late afternoon. Packed lunch is served en-route to the camp. Arrive at the camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: ILKELIANI CAMP, MASAI MARA
Masai Mara
The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife reserve and park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomizes Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further.
The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains.
Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.
Day Itinerary
Met. Station – Naromoru parkgate – Naromoru.
Early breakfast and either trek to the gate (if taking the 1600hrs flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara) or be picked by the car from the camp at 0700hrs. And be transferred out of park to Naromoru gate (if taking the 1300hrs flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara to Nanyuki airstrip for a flight to Mara.) before driving back to Nairobi.
On arrival in Nairobi, transfer to Wilson Airport for your afternoon/evening flight to Masai Mara. Arrival for late lunch (if you take the 1300hrs flight) followed by afternoon shared game drive at Ilkeliani Camp or arrival in the evening with enroute game drive to the camp to check in for dinner and overnight,(If you take the 1600hrs flight)

Overnight: Ilkeliani Camp
Nestled in a river glade in the Maasai Mara, the area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. The camp has been designed to combine the old traditional safari style with a modern and fresh feel. Ilkeliani Camp offers only 17 tents and each commanding views of the plains and the wildlife action throughout the day. It is a permanent camp designed along eco-friendly principles. The ethos is to leave a minimum foot print on nature.
Each well-equipped tents are stylish with en suite bathroom. They are sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel that you are out in the wilderness. The interiors are spacious and comfortable featuring a front verandah with a day bed and canvas safari chairs. Home cooked meals combined with personal service contribute to an unforgettable safari experience.

DAY 7: AMBOSELI SERENA SAFARI LODGE, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Amboseli National Park
Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Masaai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snowcap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast and check out. The camp vehicle will transfer you to the airstrip for your morning flight back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be met by your driver guide then drive to Amboseli with picnic lunch en-route. Evening game drive in Amboseli National Park before proceeding to Amboseli Serena Lodge for check in, dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge
Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is located near Mount Kilimanjaro in the heart of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. The lodge offers 92 rooms which feature complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service and a private balcony. Hotel facilities include a swimming pool and sundeck, a gift shop, spacious interior bar with terrace, a campfire bar and bush BBQ area. Guests can also enjoy guided walks, bird-watching walks, dinner in the bush and Maasai dance performances in dedicated exterior bush BBQ area.
