Situated along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place to be. There are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum, the Giraffe Centre and most notably, just 20 minutes from the city centre, wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for a once in a lifetime experience.

Situated in southwest Kenya, the Mara North Conservancy is a beautiful private wilderness area spanning more than 30 000 hectares. It is home to a spectacular array of plants, reptiles, birds and mammals; including elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and large concentrations of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other migratory wildlife. Leopard Gorge, in the heart of the conservancy, is famous as the setting of countless BBC Big Cat Diaries and National Geographic documentaries. Neighbouring the well-known Maasai Mara National Reserve, this conservancy is vital for sustaining the famous Serengeti wildebeest migrations as well as the highly threatened African wild dog and black rhino.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast and check out, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara ETD@1000hrs. On arrival in Mara – Musiara Airstrip, you will be met by the camp driver who will transfer you to the camp for check in and lunch. Later enjoy a shared afternoon game drive till evening.
Overnight at Ngerende in the Wild Lakeview – Ground Package.
Ngerende in the Wild Lakeview is extremely spacious, very exclusive and luxurious with only two suites built on stilts. The lodge has mahogany flooring, comfortable seating on the terrace and a fireplace. Each suite has a Jacuzzi and lap-pool, with superb views of the Savannah. It is not unusual during the migration period to see the crossing from the terrace and watch elephant, black rhino, giraffe and buffalo only a few meters away. The lodge also offers a restaurant, bar, kitchen supported by chef and butlers, as well as an exclusive vehicle for each suite and experienced professional driver guides.

An (OPTIONAL) early morning hot air balloon ride begins the day. Arise before dawn to embark on a colourful hot air balloon that drifts peacefully over the Mara plains as the sun rises. View the diverse wildlife from this incredible bird’s-eye view. A delightful champagne breakfast will be served as you land on the open savannah, before continuing on the morning game drive.(Extra Cost)

The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomizes Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, herds of elephants, as well as giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

Meals & Overnight at Ngerende Island Lodge – Ground Package
The lodge is set on an oxbow of the Mara River and is surrounded on all sides by the river except for a 100 yards section where the river has not yet cut the ox-bow free to become a true island.
The luxurious lodge has only 7 elegant suites which are extremely spacious has stylish mahogany flooring with an open plan sleeping and living area, complete with fireplace. Comfortable seating is provided both is the living area and on the terrace so that the true tranquility of the lodge can be best appreciated.
All suites benefit from being built on stilt providing delightful panoramic views down onto the Mara and the woodland on the banks opposite.
The individual suites benefit from having a personal butler and the distance between each suite has been maximized to reduce any risk of noise disturbance that may be caused by other guests.
There are two restaurants, kitchen backed by chefs serving international cuisine and which are tailored towards guests requirements. There is also a spa which is a luxurious facility built in an area where there are rapids to reflect the true soul of Africa.
