DAY 1: TARANGIRE SOPA LODGE, TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK       

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park, situated within Tanzania’s spectacular Manyara Region, is an awe-inspiring national park comprising of granite ridges, river valleys, mixed vegetative landscapes, and free-roaming wildlife. During the annual dry season the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. With lion being among the most commonly spotted animal, it is a rare day that a visitor does not spot this majestic animal prowling or grazing. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as Oryx and gerenuk are seen regularly. This expansive area is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the wondrous mountains to the south.

Day Itinerary

0730hrs: Depart Amboseli after breakfast and drive to the Namanga border town where you will go through the standard Immigration and Customs formalities. Thereafter you will be introduced and be handed over to our Tanzanian driver guide.

Proceed with to Arusha town where you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch at a restaurant in Arusha, continue your safari to Tarangire National Park. Game drive en-route to the lodge. Arrive at the lodge and check in, spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge    

Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s best-kept secrets. Close to the town of Arusha and hosting Tanzania’s highest concentration of elephant population in Africa, perhaps than anywhere else in the world.  It has a horizon dominated by the magnificent baobab trees, Legend says that baobab tree once angered God and it was thrown to earth and planted upside down. The trees are known to live for hundreds of year, some say thousands of years.

Tarangire sopa Lodge has 75 large and airy rooms, accommodating 150 guests.  Built to blend with the vastness of its surroundings, the Lodge nestles amongst the rocky outcrops in the north-east of the park.  As the Lodge is one of only a handful in this park, visitors are often rewarded with an exclusive feel to their safari.  Each of the suites has its own private lounge with mini-bar, en-suite bathroom, large bedroom with 2 queen size beds and a balcony. The Lodge has telephone facilities, satellite TV, a conference room and a uniquely-designed swimming pool with a central island.

DAY 2: SERENGETI SOPA LODGE, CENTRAL SERENGETI

Central Serengeti

Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams.

The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

Day Itinerary

0700hrs: After an early breakfast check out. Drive to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunches, undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.

En route visit the Olduvai Gorge site of archaeological findings, where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered Afternoon game drive en-route to the lodge. Overnight: Serengeti Sopa Lodge       

Offering arguably the best wildlife to be seen anywhere in Africa, the Serengeti National Park provides the perfect backdrop for the Serengeti Sopa Lodge. Located in the Nyarboro Hills in the south-west of this world-famous park, the lodge has panoramic views over the savannah.  An almost constant southerly breeze keeps the temperature at a comfortable level. The lodge now accommodates 146 guests in 73 rooms and four luxury two-storey suites, all overlooking the eastern plains of the Serengeti.  Each room has a private lounge with mini-bar, en-suite bathroom and private verandah.  The Lodge has telephone facilities, satellite TV, a conference room and a swimming pool.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE, NGORONGORO CRATER   

Ngorongoro Crater

Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife; which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking and visiting a local Maasai village. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.

Day Itinerary

After an early breakfast you will depart from the Serengeti National park for Ngorongoro arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, descend into the crater for a game drive on the crater floor. Ngorongoro’s enduring charm stems from its overwhelming beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.

After game drive ascend the crater and drive back to Ngorongoro sopa lodge. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. (One glass of wine or one beer or one soft drink included at dinner). Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, the magnificent Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the only property on the eastern rim of this World Heritage Site. Accommodating 186 guests in its 97 spacious en-suite bedrooms, the Lodge has its own private road to the crater floor.  The Lodge is perfectly situated to explore the abundant game in what is often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.  Its location offers awe-inspiring views over the crater and some of the most breathtaking sunsets to be seen in Tanzania. Each suite has a private lounge with mini-bar, en-suite bathroom, central heating and a private solarium.  The Lodge has telephone facilities, satellite TV, a conference room, and a swimming pool situated on the very edge of the rim.

DAY 5: END OF ITINERARY       

Day Itinerary

Depart after breakfast and drive direct to the town of Arusha where you will have lunch at a Restaurant in town. After lunch proceed on to the Namanga border point. Here you will change over into Kenyan vehicles and bid goodbye to your Tanzania driver guides.

Please note; 

  • Non A/C Vehicles are used for transfers in cities and on Safari in Kenya
  • Luggage limit of one soft bag per person during travel in Kenya. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles.
  • Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 15kgs per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).
  • The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms. Please be advised that the maximum singles the lodges can give is 4. The rest are charged as doubles.
  • ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION: In the case of a confirmed booking being re-routed for whatever reason we will endeavour to move guests to an equivalent level property subject to availability and with prior agreement with the operator/agent and we reserve the right to do so in the best interests of all concerned

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Contract variations

The contractual costs mentioned above in this agreement are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them. In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, AMA SAFARIS has the right to pass on any increases to our Partners or Clients.

Payment Policy

A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking.  The balance of 65% is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program.  If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.

Children Policy:

Children between the age of 3 and 12 years

  • Pays 60% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults
  • Pays 80% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another children
  • Pays 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one adult
  • No discount on Holiday and other supplements

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation and no-show fees. Following is the scale for cancellation charges:

  • 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35 days prior to arrival
  • 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
  • 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24 hrs prior to arrival

Itinerary Changes:

Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in East Africa may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.

Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc. AMA SAFARIS will communicate with you for such tour itinerary/tour program or accommodation changes
